Faces Hair Salon was founded in March 1971. It began at a time when the world of hairdressing was beginning to experience a major new direction. The "Sasoon era" was exploding in England and the influence was being felt all around the world. Here in the states, salons were undergoing a revolutionary new change.

Faces Salon was one of a handful of new "unisex salons" opening up to both sexes, a place where wash and sets and hairdryers were out. And scissors and blow dryers were in. Women and men sat side by side getting the newest, hippest haircuts by young stylists looking to develop their personal creativity and master precision haircuts that clients could care for themselves. They believed if the haircut was good you would not cover it up with setting and teasing and weekly visits to the hairdresser. Precision hair cutting had exploded onto the scene.

Fast forward 35 years and Faces Salon is still here and still creating its own buzz. The staff has grown, the services have expanded and the place still rocks. Years go by and people still reminisce about the first time they had their hair cut in Faces. There is an energy to our salon that people comment on all the time. Our salon members work together to make people comfortable in our home. They love what they do, where they do it, and who they do it with. You just have to visit us once to get it. We have a common interest and that is to do beautiful work and make people feel and look better when they leave.

Faces Salon is departmentalized into separate color, cutting, nail, and skin care areas. The philosophy behind this is from its founder Barry Gold, who has always emphasized the importance of people who focus on their particular specialty and turn out the best work. That philosophy has paid off over the years with the number of skilled colorists, stylists, and technicians Faces has developed and who have contributed to the reputation Faces Salon enjoys today.

Education for the staff has always been a priority for creative growth and professional development. This is an important criteria for the staff members. It keeps them stimulated and aware of the fashion changes around them. Staff members continue to improve what they do and bring these ideas back to the salon. Over the years we have developed new ways of doing color and new techniques for styling hair. The beauty industry is always changing. Clients are always seeking new images for themselves and they come to the salon looking to us for new ideas. Depending on the client, sometimes a little change goes a long way.
